I Spy with My Little Eye....
I made I Spy bags for the kids. I used a tutorial that I found on the "craftiness is not an option" blog. I think they look kinda rough, but the kids are enjoying playing with them. I will do better next time!

Little Mermaids
I made Anna and her BFF, Sarah, matching mermaid costumes.
Aren't they cute???
I found the directions for the bottoms on tootsiegrace.blogspot.com
I winged it for the tops.

The Case of Missing Decorations....
It never fails that after Christmas, I misplace some of my year-round decor. My suspicion is the missing box is in the midst of all the Christmas boxes stored away until next year. This year, I misplaced a box of items from my dining room. I had to find a solution for the blank wall above my fireplace mantel. I decided to make an Ohio Star wall hanging. I went to Lowes and purchased square pieces of pre-cut plywood. I drew out my pattern so that when all 4 pieces were hung together the star would appear. I painted my "puzzle pieces" with several coats of acrylic paint. I then used a glaze to age the look.
I think it looks great!

Michael's favorite....
I made Michael's all-time favorite dessert - Bread Pudding! I use a recipe from Lazarus Department Store and tweak it a bit. I do not use the Whiskey for the sauce. I make a butter cream one instead.

Chicken Maderia
I decided to try to cook with wine this year. Michael and I love Chicken Maderia at the Cheesecake Factory so I decided to try it first. Michael liked it and gave it the go ahead to make again!
I found a copycat recipe here.

Amy Butler Fashion Show
I had the opportunity to sew for a fashion show in January. I had to make an outfit using only Amy Butler Fabrics. I made a tunic/dress with matching headband. Anna was my model. She did a fabulous job!

We got to chat with Amy after the show. We had such a good time!
Check out more about Amy Butler at her website.

Christmas in February....
I haven't blogged in quite a while, but wanted to share some pictures from Christmas.
Anna had her first TAVACI performance.
I made my marshmallow snowmen for Ian's and Anna's classes and for a cookie exchange at work.
Here is the recipe. I put mine on sticks so they are like lollipops.
I buy these from a local chocolate maker every year for the kids' classes.
This was a new recipe that I tried this year. DeFrosty the Snowman.... Here is the recipe.
The kids made their traditional gingerbread houses.
Our Nativity scene.
Some of my Santa collection.
My favorite collection....brush trees! I try to make a few more every year.
Paper Mache Santas
I love this "Merry Christmas" sampler that I found at a garage sale a few years ago.
Another garage sale find!
Here is the recipe. I put mine on sticks so they are like lollipops.
